Christian Pondella Photo Blog

Christian Pondella is based in Mammoth Lakes, CA, on the spectacular East Side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He is a photographer specializing in adventure sports with an emphasis on skiing.  He enjoys traveling to exotic locations through out the world experiencing different cultures and photographing in remote mountain ranges.  As an outdoor enthusiast, Christian has spent most of his life participating in athletics. These activities have inspired his photography. As an avid participant in the sports he photographs, he tries to capture an image through the athlete’s perspective, instead of the spectators view. His goal is to bring people an intimate view of the cutting edge of adventure sports.

For the past 11 years Christian has been the head photographer for Red Bull USA, photographing many of their alternative sporting events. This has given him the opportunity to work with some of the worlds best athletes participating in variety of adventure sports.

Christian is a member of the San Disk Extreme Team, a senior photographer for Powder Magazine, and his work has been featured in most major ski publications through out the world. He has also been published in Outside, Men’s Journal, Sports Illustrated, ESPN Magazine, Maxim, FHM, GQ Magazine and a variety of other publications and newspapers.
